When most people hear the word midwife, they think of pregnancy and birth. While supporting women through those moments is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do, it is only part of the story.
As a midwife, I am here for you through every stage of life.
I care for women coming in for their first exam, those navigating birth control or family planning, growing families during pregnancy and women moving through postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. My role is to support your health over time, not just during one chapter.
That means I am here for:
- Annual exams and routine screenings, including Pap tests
- Preventive care and annual exams, often completed in the same visit
- Guidance on birth control and family planning
- Care throughout pregnancy, delivery and the postpartum period
- Support through hormonal changes, including perimenopause and menopause
- Sexual and pelvic health care
- Healthy aging support, including nutrition, exercise counseling and recommended screenings
- Coordination with all types of specialty care such as urogynecology, endocrinology and cardiovascular services
- Questions that come up along the way, big or small
Midwifery care is built on relationships. I want to know you, your goals and your concerns. I take time to listen, answer questions and make sure you feel confident in the decisions you are making about your health.
“As a Certified Nurse Midwife, my care is rooted in respect, compassion and partnership with women and their families. I believe education is a powerful tool that helps women feel confident, informed and supported through every stage of life,” said Hannah Goldsmith, MSN, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC.
Over time, that relationship grows. I may see you for a wellness visit one year, walk alongside you during pregnancy the next and later help you navigate new changes as your body evolves. That continuity matters. It means you always have someone in your corner who understands your health history and what matters most to you.
The idea of Midwife for Life is simple. You deserve care that does not start and stop with pregnancy. You deserve a provider who is here for you year after year.
This Women’s Health Month, I encourage you to take a moment for yourself. Schedule your annual exam, stay up to date on your screenings and know that you have a partner in your care every step of the way!
