About Ruth Steward, CNM
Biography
Ruth Steward, CNM, IBCLC is a board-certified nurse midwife and lactation consultant at Kansas City Women's Clinic in Olathe, KS and Belton, MO. She is affiliated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Ruth has special training in lactation consultation tailored to the mother and baby's needs. This includes health history and birth history evaluation, infant's weight before and after feeds, breast assessment, infant oral assessment and general feeding observations.

The word midwife means ""with women"" and that is at the center of my care philosophy. I seek to emphasize the importance of education and informed consent in my care. I strive to empower women to be active participants in their care and help them achieve their health goals.
